The plan of visiting Mindanao was originally planned 7 years ago in the wake of our Uncle Avelino Vargas in Iriga City the last time we saw Col. Rodolfo Vargas. And then last December while we are on vacation my cousin Julie and I decided to pursue the plan of visiting Col. Rodolfo Vargas in Tukuran, Zamboanga City, we inform some of our cousins about the plan with no hesitation we both agreed and told them that we decided to go there on April 20-26 2023.
Kristine booked our flight immediately thru Philippines Airlines on the month and date that we agreed, but unfortunately, last January the PAL send an email that our flight schedule was moved to April 21 instead of 20. It's fine for us the first cancellation, but sending an email on April 20 at about 10 pm the night before our flight is quite disappointing we were all ready for our flight the next day April 21, supposed to be our flight is 1:35 pm was canceled and moved to April 24 and told us that our flight back on the next day isn't very inconvenient to the passenger they keep on changing the schedule as if they are dictating the passenger. Very disappointing on the part of the passenger
But my niece Kristine and Karen did not accept the changes, telling them we are not talking about one passenger only they are nine affected passengers and all seniors what the hell are they doing they keep on dropping the phone and we have to get another queue number so we can talk to them about our complaint not just one but thrice but luckily one of the personnel accommodate and negotiated to us if we like the options that they are offering to us, telling us that our flight will be rerouted to Manila-Ozamiz at an early flight 4:55 am we have nothing to do just to push through as scheduled, Karen caught one of the personnel saying maam your reservation is only economy meaning to say they have the right to maneuver your schedule because it's only economy. It is a very unreasonable excuse on our part, for the first batch.
And the second batch was rerouted to Manila-Dipolog with an early flight at 5:55 am, and the third batch was rerouted to Manila-Cagayan de Oro City late flight of 8:30 and they had to take a six hours bus ride to reach the destination that was a very tiring night for us nine passengers we did not sleep even a single minute because of what PAL did to us, but we can fight for our right as a passenger and everything was taken action, our heartfelt thanks to Kristine and Karen who did their best to settle the problem.
Hello, there team Tukuran. On behalf of Team Iriga, (representing the Bagayawa, Nacario, and Vargas families) We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the wonderful experience we had during our stay. All the time and effort that you did to accommodate us all is simply amazing, from the time we arrived up to the last minute that we were there is unbelievable, no words can describe our feelings to express our gratitude, the reunion was very significant for all of us who for the first time some were able to meet our relatives from Mindanao. The meeting after several years especially with our brother, the fully pledged Col. Rodolfo Vargas as he said truly emotional and heartwarming, the laughter we shared, the sumptuous food and fruits, the sightseeing trips, the exchanges of old stories of male Vargas, especially of Manoy Tony are something that we will miss.
To team Davao led by the very adorable sec. Antonio Vargas, thank you for bringing all your family to Tukuran, for us to be able to meet and see all of them, thank you also for the unlimited fruits that you brought. we even had enough to bring some of them back to Luzon. the long travel, the problem with the airlines, and at the airport were some of the minor problems we encountered, but these were all erased by the hospitality of the host family led by Col. Dolfo, Ate Babes, Nonoy and his wife, even those abroad, Ruby and Neneng who also put some effort for the success of our family gathering, the energy and the enthusiasm of Denden and the support of his husband to give us the best during our stay and until we left is worth mentioning and cannot be ignored, thanks a lot DENDEN. "day hang salamat kanpyo tanan diha" We hope to see some if not all of you from Tukuran and Davao in Iriga City next year.
Yong hindi nakasama sorry na miss ninyo experience to see Mindanao.

Tita paki sabi sa kanilang lahat na sobrang happy lang kami na naisipan ninyo lahat na mabisita kami especially si papa, considering the distance and the cost of going here, u all deserved the best accommodation na makakaya namin.. at first nung sinabi mo tita na magpunta kayo dito para mag get together, hesitant si mama kasi nga hindi pa masyado magaling operation niya, but I together with my siblings did not think twice because we know papa will be happy and knowing and that it would be hassle if not impossible to make papa travel that far to be reunited with you all. our hearts are very overwhelmed knowing that you were not only enjoying your stay here but you were comfortable as well.. except the thrill/nervous the sightseeing trip had give you.. I was nervous too coz first time ko din magpunta doon.. nawala lahat pagod, puyat at stress ko sa lahat ng mga THANK YOUs and appreciation ninyo. kahit yon lang, bawing bawi na kayo excited to see u all next year knowing we have so many titas and titos who already know us there in Iriga.

I admit that you are not the only airline having this kind of problem, cancellation of flight delayed flight schedule I think it is just normal, but be considerate all the time to your customer, planning a travel is not easy, so refrain from having this kind of problem which is very inconvenient to your customer/passenger, sending an email changing the flight a day before our schedule telling us that our flight was canceled without any reason given why they canceled the flight that's unbelievable and not acceptable, what if the schedule we have booked is really important and we miss the opportunity?
I am a frequent traveler not just domestically but internationally, I travel to the US several times having Philippines Airlines as my carrier, and even other Asian countries, but this is the first time I encountered and am so disappointed with what happened to us. The lesson learned is not a good idea to book a flight for 3 or 4 months and try to save a little for the less fare, we booked our flight as early as January and this is what happened. And I am just stating the fact that this will not happen to another customer/passenger.
